A REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2022

Introduction

Link Hands Uganda has successfully worked with our Swedish partners; the Swedish family through Anders Eliasson. When Benard met Anders in 2019 in Skene church Sweden, he developed a strong relationship with him and since 2019 Anders has been helping several needy people in Uganda.

At first he worked with Benard Mwesigwa on a friendly basis before transforming to Swedish Family and Link Hands Uganda. Together we have achieved tremendous success with the help of God.

Now we are riding another great year of consistence, trust, praying, and spreading love to all the needy people one step at a time in this new year of 2022.

Activities of January

The month of January was mostly about schooling. The Ugandan government opened the schools after 2years period of lockdown due to covid-19 pandemic.

But also some people in need were reached out generous; these included the sick people, and other social demands.

v School fees: Link Hands Uganda has 15 children on their sponsorship program this year. 7 children are in primary, 7 are in secondary or high school, and 1 is in tertiary institute. As it is our goal to reach out to the needy, only the children selected in the community. These children go to different schools due to different reasons. These sponsored children this is what they received:

· School fees or tuition for the first term

· Scholastic materials like books, pens and pencils.

· The uniforms were provided by their parents as a way to encourage them to care and love their children.

· School meals were paid.

v Office rent: Link Hands has an office which is situated in Mafubira village zone B. we pay rent per month to cater for our duties in the community. Mr. Anders sent the money for rent to ensure smooth running of our activities to fulfil our vision.

v Tuition for Benard & Birthday: in this month of January Benard Mwesigwa completing his studies at campus but he had no tuition so Swedish Family helped him with money. The same month, it was his birthday where he celebrated the birthday with the children of Mafubira Lutheran Church.

v Health care: with the weekly funding, we reached out to Gerald Mutesasira an 11years old boy who has problems with the testicles. He needed an agent operation. Link Hands reached out to him and paid part of his medical bills and we are still monitoring his health and condition.

Sharif Muwanika, a young who introduced me to the Late Lukman, he was also very sick and he needed help. He is suffering from prostate cancer. So Link Hands Uganda reached out to him and paid part of his bill of operation. I can proudly say that he is improving after the operation and we are still monitoring him.

CONCLUSION:

The month of January was quite a heavy month but we were successful to take back many children at school because education is the key to success. There are several challenges but we believe with God all things are possible and we can achieve more together this year.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” Isaiah 43:18-19
